Before my parents moved to Algonquin I lived in Carpentersville and Cathy lived directly across the street. We used to play as kids and have snowball fights now and then. If I recollect correctly, she had two brothers David and Jim and one sister Susan.
Anyways I remember her as a real Tom Boy back then and a good person.
I remember Cathy as the basketball player everyone wanted on their team. We didn't know each other well but as a senior I moved from my father's to my mother's house which was close to where Cathy lived and she walked over a few times and we had bizarre but interesting conversations. I was really looking forward to seeing her at the reunion. So sorry to hear she's gone.
Cathy was the quiet type, who could be in a room and could go unnoticed. But in the same sense she was a friend for life always looking out for you. She had a heart of gold and was always helping the little guy. You will be missed.
