Michael Raymond Perkins Obituary

Michael Raymond Perkins went to dance on the streets of heaven in the morning on August 23, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 24, 1952 in Michigan to his loving mother and father, Jack and Roberta Perkins who precede him in death. Also preceding him in death is his longtime partner Joanne who he is joyfully reunited with in death. Above all, Michael's life was defined by his love for his family.

Michael graduated from Irving Crown High School, an achievement he was proud of all of his life. He continued to pursue knowledge through his love of books.

Michael had several pursuits throughout his life before he found his true passion working at the Kane County Forest Preserve, where he worked for 20 years. Alongside of his career Michael found time for other hobbies including listening to music, reading, dancing and later in his life cherished his bird Tink (Tinkerbell) and donated to Eagle and Crane Conservation. Michael was proud of many things in his life, and was a hard-working driven man, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Rebecca Perkins. As well as his grandchildren Sabrina Mattison, Simmia Pearson, Michael Pearson, Coral Combs, Katie Combs, and Eric Kendall Jr.; and his great grandchildren Leiland, Haisley, Maevry, and Zayden; niece and nephew Shelby Locasto and Jack Harris.

His children gave him strength during the rough times, laughter, and joy all of the time. He was so proud of his kids and family, who will hold dear the stories we will be privileged to tell of how funny, loving and giving their father, grandfather and great grandfather was.

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31

Mike was a great guy, he liked to tease lot. If you weren't smiling when you saw him, you were when you walked away.
Sleep well, Mike
